Art can be enjoyed by everyone – regardless of age, background, or ability.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: stART Up Community Arts Project has brought together artists, local schools and community groups to offer a range of creative and inspiring workshops centred on inclusivity and accessibility.

Harmony in Diversity

These vibrant wheelchair accessories were produced by local fabric art group Edelweiss in collaboration with wheelchair users and local students. They were crafted from recycled materials as part of the Harmony in Diversity workshops. The Harmony in Diversity programme connected individuals from different backgrounds and abilities, and offered a space for young people to learn about the needs of wheelchair users and barrier-free design. Through lively discussions, participants explored a variety of wheelchair accessory possibilities, shared personal stories, and learned to appreciate their similarities and differences.
